Abstract

The seal for an electrical box consists of two half boxes passed together with an elastic joint (7) around the edge, held in a groove (6) inside the rim and a cylindrical elastic sleeve around the sheath of an electric cable entering the box which is clamped in a cylindrical housing formed by the two halves of the box. A well (22) inside the rim accommodates lateral extrusion of the seal as the box is closed. A portion of the joint (7) has two lips (30,31) bent down under the elastic sheath (29) of the cable (30).
