Abstract
The distortion correction is provided by a passive preemphasis network prior to high power amplification by klystron or travelling wave tube. The network consists of two beam-lead Schottky diodes connected nose to tail in parallel with a resistor of 70 to 150 Ohms, about 10 times the series resistance of the diodes, and a low pass filter. The application envisaged is in telecommunication satellite ground station transmitters using the 5.9 to 6.4 GH2 band.
