Abstract

The two way closure spring lift valve is used to draw beer pressure from a barrel. The beer is fed by the screwing home of an actuating piston (250). This simultaneously connects a gas pressure feed (206) with the barrel interior, whilst connecting an internal siphon nozzle (140) with the outgoing beer feed (252). A round hollow section bung (100) screws into an internal barrel spigot (302), with a step reduced inlet (104) with an internal chamfer (106) and shoulder (108). A threaded retaining ring (112) secures a tubular closure sprung (132) valve piston (120) of which the head reciprocates the inlet (104). a similar reduced inlet (124) is provided in the valve, locating a closure sprung (S) valve piston (150) which is depressed by the actuator (250). Spring calibration ensures that both valves move off their seats, the gas passing through the annular vol. between piston (122) and bung (101), and the beer passing through (252) the actuator (250) via piston (122) bore.
