Abstract

The curette is for extracting a sample of endometriotic tissue and comprises an elongated hollow tube with an opening at the proximal end. The distal end is closed in a bent-over point (21) which has a short axial slit behind it. The slit communicates with the bone of the tube. The portion of the tube around the slit is raised slightly w.r.t. the rest of the tube. These two facing edges act as the cutting edges of the curette. The tube is made from a rigid but malleable material which may be contoured if required.
