Abstract
The angle bracket (1) is used to connect square hollow section members (2, 3, 4) of furniture frames. Each fitting joins two rails (2, 3) to a post. Each is fabricated from a rectangular blank from which two triangular corner pieces are cut away to obtain a trapezoidal profile. A square piece (abcd) is then cut out of the top edge. The lower corners each subtend 135 deg. and the side of the piece (a, b, c, d) equals twice the post width (e). Screw holes are punched, and finally right angle folds (1-5) are made along lines which respectively bisect and extend the sides of the square cut out adjoining edges may be welded, and two similar fittings (5, 7) may cater for 'T' and 'X' joints.
