Abstract

A tachometric dynamo (232) determines the speed of a convoy suspended from a rail while an alternator (101) charges the batteries (102) and provides electrical power via a general power supply circuit (103). An OR gate (108) has an input from and accelerator signal circuit (107) to indicate that braking is required when other inputs are present. This input is derived from the alternator circuit. The gate output is connected to a servo sub-asembly (111) to process the control signal for a servo limiter (84). A second sub-assembly (112) proceses a second control signal for a second servo limiter (92) to provide the required braking deceleration.
