Abstract

The tool effects the cutting or grooving of metal pieces, comprising a metal plate (1) to which cutting bits (3) are fixed. A fixed or adjustable tang (4) is also provided. The plate may be realtively thin and is profiled to resist both tangential cutting forces, and those due to tool penetration into a workpiece. The tool bits may be welded, rivetted, crimped or force fitted in diametrically opposed plate notches (2), being of the same section as the plate. The tang (4) may be fixed in a plate window, may project on one plate side only, or may project equally on both sides.
