Abstract

Cette invention concerne la production d'un ester organo-silicique monomère par réaction d'un cyclosilalcoxane avec un acide monocarboxylique polymérisable par des radicaux libres. On évite la polymérisation à la fois de l'acide monocarboxylique et de l'ester organo-silicique par l'utilisation d'un inhibiteur de polymérisation sous une forme activée et on élimine l'eau sous forme d'un azéotrope. L'activation de l'inhibiteur permet d'élever la température de réaction pour obtenir plus rapidement l'ester désiré, qui peut ensuite être purifié. Ces esters sont utilisables après polymérisation pour la fabrication de lentilles de contact molles.
