Abstract
La jonction de fibres optiques peut être effectuée au moyen de bagues contenant des rubis de montre qui permettent un positionnement précis de l'extrémité des fibres. Dans l'agencement selon la présente invention, cette technique est perfectionnée grâce à la présence d'une seule bague tubulaire 21 à l'intérieur de laquelle sont placés deux rubis 22 du type dit Y. Ces rubis sont placés l'un près de l'autre et dos-à-dos, une fenêtre étroite 28 en verre ou autre matériau transparent dont l'indice de réfraction est apparié à celui de l'âme des fibres étant placée entre les rubis. Cette fenêtre a pour but de positionner de façon précise les extrémités des fibres, ce qui facilite la réalisation de l'épissure. Après insertion des extrémités des fibres, celles-ci sont maintenues en place, par exemple, par remplissage de la bague avec une résine époxy.
