Abstract

The sharing of the loading of the feet of a human is measured using a rigid surface for various orthopaedic and sporting purposes. This allows modifications to be made to sporting footwear particularly for skiing. A base (3) is supported by screw jacks (4) which allow it to be supported horizontally. Four damping elements (5) comprise rubber blocks in which two chambers communicate via a calibrated hole to permit the passage of oil. A plate (7) is mounted on the dampers to support two rectangular supports (8) which are moved sideways by a screw (10) and shaft (12) with a scale (13) indicating position. On the support plate are mounted dampers (14) on which a second support plate (16) is mounted. Indications (18, 20) allow the feet to be positioned on the plate and liquid levels (23, 25) indicate inclinations in two directions.
