Abstract

The basting appts. comprises a recovery plate for recovering the cooking juices from meat (18) connected by an evacuation pipe (19) to a reservoir (13). A pump (15) with an electric motor (20) allows automatic control from a timer (21) to pump the juices via piperwork (16, 17) to nozzles (14) above the meat in the oven (12). The pipes and reservoir are of stainless steel and are removable for cleaning or they can be cleaned in position. A manual pump can be used where no electrical power is readily available.
