Abstract
The mattress for a circular bed is in two parts which can be folded for transport. On the ends of each part (4), two plates are fixed which support a hinge (24) whose axle (25) is at the intersection of the joint. The hinge is locked by bars (26) across the plates to hold the two parts together. For transporting, the bed, the bars are removed and the two parts can pivot round the axle. Before the bed is used the two parts are joined by bolts through right angle plates (28). The hinge plate is replaced with a metal plate.
