Abstract

The brake valve is for use on trailers with tractors having a constant delivery pump. It uses ball valves, avoiding blocking and seizure difficulties. It avoids imbalance normally associated with single pedal operation. It can be controlled mechanically or hydraulically, independently. Fluid enters the valve and when the brake pedal is pressed, likages joined to a lever presses on a rod joined to the pistons, liquid being held by a ball valve. The ball lifts, and fluid flows via a piston to the brake circuit. Another ball shuts slowly the passage to auxiliary equipment and pressure rises in the trailer brakes via a non-return valve.
