Abstract
The concrete carriageway kerb and integral channel presents a low face to the footpath (15 cms) and a high face to carriageway (29 cms) to protect pedestrians in built up or urban areas from vehicle mounting the pavement. The block can be monolithic or the curved raised part can be a separate unit bedded to the bottom unit with a mortar joint and the raised unit can have a tapered end section. Levelling, jointing and aligning adjacent units is aided by two 2 cm radius holes threaded with dowel bars. The kerb section presents in a profile a right angle to the edge road surface.
