Abstract

Oxime derives. of formula (I) are new: In the formula, R1 is H, halogen or NO2, X is CN, NO2, halogen, lower alkanoyl, carboxylic acid ester residue, carboxamide residue, H or lower alkyl, Q is lower alkyl (opt. interrupted by hetero-atoms or substd. by halogen), lower alkenyl, haloalkenyl, lower alkynyl, 3-7C cycloakly (opt. substd. by halogen), lower cyanoalkyl, lower alkanoic acid ester residue, lower alkanoic acid amide residue, aliphatic-, araliphatic-, cycloaliphatic-, aromatic- or opt. substd. heterocyclic acyl the ester residue of an aliphatic, araliphatic, cycloaliphatic aromatic or opt. substd. heterocyclic carbonic acid, alkylsulphonic acid, sulphonamide residue or carbamoyl. (I) are selective herbicides e.g. for use in maize, rice and cereal cultures. They are active against dicotyledonous weeds (e.g. Amaranthus, Galium, Matricaria, Solanum) at 0.5-4 kg/ha. or more At 2-4 kg/ha or more, some cpds. are active against monocotyledonous weeds (e.g. Digitaria, Setaria, Echinochloa) but do not harm the culture plants. (I) may be applied pre- or more pref. post-emergence.
