Abstract
The process comprises (a) passing the water into an eletrolysis cell having a soluble anode liberating Fe ions; (b) passing the effluent from (a) into a reduction-digassing vessel having fast agitation; (c) passing the effluent from (b) into a flocculation vessel having slow agitation; and (d) passing the effluent from (c) into a decanter in which the solid phase is sepd and part of the solid may be recycled to the flocculator. The process is applied to effluent from electrolytic chroming, tanning, textile mondanting, metal anti-corrosion treatment and from chemical industries. It is both very effective and economic.
