Abstract

On soumet le combustible solide à une oxydation partielle pour produire un gaz constitué de monoxyde de carbone et d'hydrogène et contenant des particules de combustible solide non transformées ; on refroidit rapidement ce gaz et on l'épure pour former une suspension aqueuse de ces particules; on conduit la suspension dans une zone de sédimentation sans la refroidir et on maintient la pression manométrique dans la zone de sédimentation à une valeur au moins égale à 5,2 bars pour former une portion supérieure d'eau clarifiée et une portion inférieure d'eau plus concentrée contenant en suspension les particules de combustible solide sédimentées et on renvoie au moins en partie cette portion inférieure plus concentrée dans la zone d'oxydation partielle. L'invention s'applique en particulier à la gazéification des combustibles carbonés solides contenant des ingrédients générateurs de cendres tels que par exemple la houille, le charbon subbitumineux, le lignite, le coke de pétrole et les déchets organiques.
