Abstract

The support is for holding a compress against the skin while permitting the patient to move around normally. Different forms of the support hold compresses around the eyes, on the neck or over the corners of the mouth. The support for the eyes is shaped like a carnival mask with a channelled frame (4) and an adjustable elastic strap passing round the back of the head. The compress (7) is held in place by several small hooks made of a synthetic material. The nictus support has two arcuate frames holding the compress with the sections held together above and below the mouth by elastic threads. An elastic strap passes round the back of the head.
