Abstract

L'invention concerne une sonde pour fibres optiques. Une impulsion de lumière polarisée est injectée dans une fibre multimode, s'y propage en perdant sa polarisation, est réfléchie par un défaut éventuel dans la longueur de la fibre et renvoyée sur un récepteur à travers un analyseur de polarisation qui arrête la lumière polarisée réfléchie sur la face avant de la fibre, la mesure du temps qui s'est écoulé à partir de l'injection permettant de localiser le défaut. Application à la maintenance des systèmes de télécommunications à fibres optiques.
