Abstract

An apparatus for applying radiation to a region for isotopically selective photo-excitations is disclosed. The apparatus comprises two reflecting mirrors 16 and 18 between which there is a region 12 in which is sent a stream of vapor 14. A ray 20 strikes the mirror 18, then performs multiple reflections between the mirrors 16 and 18 to emerge through above the mirror 18. The invention makes it possible to use the energy of the radiation beam more completely without having a very large spatial extension, nor requiring too high a beam intensity.
