Abstract

The device comprises a transmitter and a receiver provided with an infrared transmission sensor, an amplifier and an output stage for switching an application circuit. In the device which is insensitive to any radiation not originating from the transmitter and which is frequency-selective, the receiver (30) is equipped with a selective circuit (56) whose input is loaded, in the absence of a signal originating from the transmitter (10, 110, 210), with a second signal having an oscillation frequency (fo) and which includes a frequency comparator, this selective circuit (56) being arranged such that it delivers a control signal to the output stage (60) only when the input frequency (fo or f1...fn) is at least close to the frequency (f1...fn) transmitted by the transmitter. This device is useful in any remote control and remote measuring system.
