Abstract

The side panel for a lorry has self-supporting plates (1) fixed directly to the chassis, each plate having a flattened U-shaped cross-section. Two adjacent plates can be joined using the arms of the U-shapes without producing parts projecting beyond the external faces (5) of the plates. The arms of the U are pref. each turned through 90 deg. to define channels (8), each arm having apertures for fixing bolts or rivets. Each plate can also have a row of apertures near each transverse edge.
