Abstract

The pot (3) of a milking machine has a cover (2) through which a tube (1) passes. A transparent flexible hose (5) connects tube (1) to a pump (4) which is suspended from, and can be moved along, an overhead rail (6). A hose (7) suspended from rail (6) by rings (8) delivers the milk from pump (4) to refrigerated tank (9). Tube (1) has a hole near its bottom end which allows air to enter when the pot is nearly empty and the operator is warned by air bubbles appearing in hose (5).
