Abstract

The antifall safety clamp is used in conjunction with a safety cable attached to the top and bottom of a pylon. It comprises a locking arm (3) fixed securely (34, 35, 36) to a structural member, several arms being spaced at intervals from top to bottom. A link is provided on the cable, opposite each arm and attached to it by a chain (5). This lock is secured to the arm by angled slots (40) engaging pins (37) on the arm. When climbing, the link is automatically released and then relocks onto the pylon arm for the descent.
