Abstract

The supply pressure of water moves valve (6) off seating (5), compressing spring (15) so water flows into a bath through holes (29). When the water level reaches and supports float (26) the spring (21) is able to close the pilot valve (20), sealing orifice (17). Supply pressure admitted to chamber (10) via passage (8) now builds up causing valve (6) to engage seat (5) and cut off flow of water into the bath. The position of the float on chain (24) can be varied to adjust the water level at which the valve (6) closes.
