Abstract

A mixt. is made of clay, cement and water, followed by hardening the mixt. and then immersing it in water or another aq. medium. The mixt. is pref. hardened for 2-24 hours, followed by immersion for 24-48 h. The mixt. may also contain 30-60% of materials which are inert to water, and 2-4% of plasticisers used for concrete or for making earth hydrophobic. The mixt. pref. contains 30-60% clay and 5-20% cement, exp. 6-12% cement. The method provides clay prods. of high dimensional stability when exposed to water or damp. the prods. being esp. bricks or panels for walls or partitions.
