Abstract

The adjustment is for play in the hinges of spectacles. The adjustment allows rationalisation of the manufacture and assembly of the hinges. The play is taken up by a plastics ring (10) within the drilled and tapped incut (6) of the securing screw (8). The ring in the form of a short cylinder with end shoulders, is inkection moulded of a comparatively rigid material not easily deformed. The shoulders trapping the ring in position may be right angles or may form an acute angle with the cylinder length.
