Abstract

The fluid comprises monoalkyl-cyclohexanes with 6-14, pref. 8-12 esp. 10 C in the alkyl gp. The fluid is specified for use in planar solar energy collectors. It is also useful for cooling engines. It does not corrode metals and elastomers and has a fire point above 100 degrees C. It is esp. useful in the -20 to +180 degrees C range and is compatible with energy-storing substances, e.g. hydrates of inorg. salts and eutectic mixts. of these.
