Abstract

The pincers have two inter-articulating hand-levers (1, 2) have a pivoting cam (13) and a subsidiary lever (6) multiplying the gripping force. The cam (13) engages a shoulder (15) of the lever (6) and terminates in an acutely angled step (16). The step (16) has the effect of rapidly releasing the lever (6) and indicating that the seal compression is complete. The hand-lever (2) may have a return curved forked (3) head incorporating the recoil sprung (11) subsidiary lever (6). The hand-lever (1) may be mounted on an axle (4) through the fork (3) and incorporates an axle (12) for the cam (13).
