Abstract

The unit is used for holding an invalid carriage during its transportation. It comprises a two piece cover (2, 3) which is curved to fit over the top of the wheel (4), the two pieces being tightened and loosened around the wheel by means of an adjustable toggle clamp (7 - 11). The lower end (12, 13) of each curved portion has an interconnected (17) rod (14) attached, these extending downwards and terminating in hooked ends (15). Each end enters a slotted rail (16), in the floor of the transporting vehicle and is locked in place.
