Echange thermique. La boîte à eau délimite une portée 14 contre laquelle bute une cloison 8 reliée à la paroi interne de la boîte à eau par un joint 17. Un conduit d'amenée du fluide à refroidir 9 débouche en dessous de la cloison 8 et un conduit de dégazage 24 débouche au-dessus de la cloison dans un compartiment 7 fermé par un bouchon 12. Boîte à eau formant nourrice pour circuits de refroidissement de moteurs diesel.
