Abstract

An electronic watch with mechanical display is more easily altered or corrected by sharing the display driving tests among a plurality of duel rotation sense motors. Such an arrangement enables practicable obtaining of a perpetual calendar in such a watch. A first stepping motor drives the seconds and minutes displays Figure 1, and the second stepping motor drives the hours and calendar display. Drive signals for the motors are derived by respective frequency dividers from a crystal controlled oscillator. When setting, a selector 8 is operated to select the unit to be corrected and in response to operation of a switch 9 or 10 the appropriate motor is driven forward or backward at a slow or fast rate. Memory circuits enable automatic adjustment for the number of days in the current month.
