Abstract

The housing is fitted into the ceiling to hold a roller blind or shutter and is constructed from individual sections, assembled together to the required length. Each section (9, 10) is made from fired clay, this material being compatible with that used for the building to prevent differential expansion cracks. Each section is an inverted U-shaped and assembled together at the top (14) by prestressed rods in grooves (21) filled with cement. Their lower portions rest in an inverted U-shaped section (13) embedded in the wall each end and resting on a brick (35) fitting into the opening. The steel surface is lined with insulation (30).
