Abstract

The press has a pick-up and a bale formation chamber. The swath collector comprises a thin transverse blade located in front of the pickup and offset transversely with respect to the pick-up in the direction of the heads of the flax stalks. The blade is held above the ground by a ground wheel in front of the blade and which bears on the swath to be collected. Metal supports for the ends of the swath are disposed below a timed wheel which rotates and drives the swath through 180[deg.]. A narrow belt elevator lifts the swath after collection by the blade.
