Abstract

The external rear view mirror is adjusted from inside the vehicle. The adjustment contains a tubular keeper (2) passing through an entrance door upright (3). A rotating member (6) passes through an axial bore (5) in the keeper to engage by a tongue (7) in a fork (9) on the rear view mirror housing. The rotating member has a centre boring (10) to accommodate a shaft (11). The shaft has a manual adjuster knob (12) at one end and a pinion (13) at the opposite end to act as a friction brake. The rotating member has two parallel side borings (23, 23a) each contg. a push rod (24, 24a). The one end of each push rod rests on a cam surface (25, 27) of a second actuator knob (26).
