Abstract

Dispositif incorporable dans un coeur de réacteur à neutrons thermiques. Il comprend un boîtier 36 ayant une dimension de section droite transversale au moins égale à la diagonale entre les coins des groupes de cartouches de combustible moins une tolérance necessaire pour l'insertion, l'enlèvement et la dilatation thermique grâce à quoi le modérateur dans l'espace entre les coins des quatre groupes de cartouches de combustible adjacents se trouve pratiquement complètement déplacé pour ainsi abaisser et aplanir le flux de neutron entre ces groupes, ce boîtier étant formé d'un métal choisi de telle sorte que les dimensions de la section droite transversale de ce dernier soient inférieures à 1/4 de l'inverse du pouvoir de ralentissement de ce métal pour des neutrons rapides et à 1/2 fois l'inverse de la section d'absorption macroscopique de ce métal pour des neutrons thermiques. Application aux réacteurs nucléaires.
