Abstract

L'invention concerne des catalyseurs de macrodimension utilisables pour favoriser des réactions chimiques. Les catalyseurs comportent un ou plusieurs constituants métalliques, spécialement un constituant métal du groupe du platine, comme promoteur catalytique combiné avec un support d'oxyde réfractaire d'une grande surface spécifique Un mélange alumine-oxyde de cérium est ajouté au catalyseur de macrodimension de manière à assurer une protection contre l'empoisonnement par des substances étrangères comme le plomb, le zinc, d'autres métaux, le soufre ou le phosphore avec lesquels les catalyseurs peuvent venir en contact durant leur utilisation. Ces catalyseurs sont utiles pour réduire la quantité des agents de pollution dans des courants de gaz résiduels tels que les gaz d'échappement d'automobiles.
