Abstract

The spectacle clips consist of a straight, rigid or semi-rigid part with a profiled piece adapted to the ear. This is connected directly or indirectly via a flexible steel foil to the hinge joining the clip to the lens frame. The steel foil has metal chain links with a controllable play such that the clip can be bent elastically at the point of the chain links. The bending is determined in regular steps by the chain link play. Bending is controlled by retaining elements in the chain link clearance and retention is provided by the rigid end holding the hinge on one side and the other rigid end carrying the part that rests behind the ear.
