Abstract

The concave metal moulds (1, 10) are for use in the industrial prodn. of clay statuettes by a high cadence pressing process. Two opposed metal moulds are used with symmetrical trapezoidal cross-sections, and locate moulds or matrices (3) of plaster. The combined mould assembly may be a horizontal parallelepiped with a sliding obturator plate (5) provided in one lateral face (4). The obturator (5) closes the mould and forms the base of the statuette. The upper mould (10) may be displaced by a hydraulic jack or press, and guides (11, 12) are provided to maintain the mould (1, 10) relationship during pressing.
