Abstract

The upholstered furniture seat incorporating the spring consists of a frame (11) with a front and back bar which are interconnected by side strips. Extending parallel to the side strips and fixed to the front and back bars are several corrugated springs (20) with one outermost corrugated spring near each side strip. A tension piece (40) is attached to at least one of the outermost corrugated springs, and its ends (43, 44) are fixed to the corrugated spring or to the frame bars in such a way that the ends cannot move in a lengthwise direction in relation to the outermost corrugated spring. At right angles between the tension piece (40) and the outermost corrugated spring is a sprung support (50) for restricting the downward movement of the corrugated spring when loaded.
