Abstract

The applicator gun is used for applying hot melt adhesive and comprises an outer housing (1) having a metal conductor tube (4). This is surrounded by a thermostat controlled (7) electric resistance heating element (5) and, at the front, has an extruder nozzle (9) fitted with a ball valve (10). The adhesive is in solid stick form, introduced into the conductor tube from the rear. Contact (14) with the heated tube melts the end of the stick, this latter being continually fed forwards by rearwards pressure (F). A low friction plastic lining bush (18) is fitted, the clearance between it and the stick being sealed by solidified melted adhesive.
