Abstract

A safely anti-rupture arrangement for a pressurised enclosure surrounded by a reinforced concrete envelope for particular use in nuclear reactor pressure vessels. The particular arrangement described is around the main cooling pipes for the reactor and comprises two types of prestressed fittings, one set annular and the other set radial, connected to a series of concrete compression bodies with special air-cooling arrangements. Some of the radial prestressed fittings carry load cells to measure the imposed forces.
