Abstract

L'invention concerne un procédé de préparation d'homopolymérisats ou de copolymérisats du styrène par polymérisation des monomères en suspension aqueuse, en présence d'auxiliaires pour stabiliser la suspension. Selon l'invention, on utilise, pour stabiliser la suspension, 0,05 à 1 % en poids, rapporté à la suspsension, d'un composé inorganique peu soluble et 0,001 à 0,1 % en poids d'un compose organique soluble dans l'eau, à effet réducteur, ainsi que, le cas echéant, 0 à 50 % en poids, rapportés au composé réducteur, d'un composé de fer-II agissant comme activateur.
