Abstract

The simply assembled and demountable connector is for electrical or mechanical cables. The overall assembly has a low overall geometry which is sealed against liquid or gas contamination and is esp. intended for use in gas and oil exploration. The connection is made within a cylindrical body which has an end shoulder for bulkhead fitting. The single electrical or mechanical line is brought in from both ends of the tube to be coupled within an inner interlocking screen over which the outer insulating or metalic cover fits, sealing being achieved with 'O' rings. The end away from the bulkhead is similarly sealed with a push in plug.
