Abstract

Tennis racquet frame with a plastic core is made with the core enclosed in a shell made in four pieces, one each for the internal and external periphery of the racquet and two face pieces, which fit into grooves in the peripheral pieces. The four pieces are pref. made of (possibly reinforced) plastic. Pref. each of the four pieces consists of a metal (Zicral) strip covered on the outside with plastics, pref. a polyurethane elastomer. The metal strips are not to abut at their edges; this gives the racquet a better torsion resistance.
