Abstract

Packaging film comprising a multilayer support covered with a layer of adhesive and an optional detachable covering film, where the support is coated on one or both faces with a latex coating. Latex coatings provide a pressure sensitive adhesive which will bond to itself, i.e. overlapped layers of the film, without also bonding to other materials, i.e. the wrapped article. Simpler to secure than heat sealed film. The latex should have a pH of >=8, may incorporate antioxidants and anticorrosion agents, pref. volatile agents. The support film may be a plastic-coated paper.
