Abstract

Micro-organisms are passed through the skin by a process in which the microorganisms are placed on the skin and subjected to an electric field. Method is partic. useful in administration of immuno B.C.G through the skin for the treatment of tumours. The method avoid scratching of the skin. Typically the microorganisms are used to impregnate an inert cellulosic plug and this is placed on the skin of the forearm. An electrode is placed on this and another placed on the skin on the other side of the forearm, the whole being held in place by a band around the forearm. A DC current of 1-2 milliamps. is passed for 10-15 min, the negative electrode being the one in contact with the impregnated plug.
