Abstract

The instantaneously descending curtain is for deployment as a security measure in e.g. banks. The curtain (6) descends on the inner side of the glass partition. The curtain is mounted on overhead rollers (4), e.g. blind fashion and is deployed by a member of the bank staff operating a switch. Counterweighting (7) may be provided on the leading curtain edge to precipitate the descent, and this edge may also be provided with a traction cord. Pretensioned springing may also assist the descent, and release may be effected by a push button operated electromagnetic lock.
