Abstract

Pharmaceutical compsns. for the treatment of liver flukes in mammals are prepd. by mixing a biphenol of formula (I) (where X and Y are halogen, esp. Cl or Br), with an inert vehicle. A specific (I) is 4,4',6,6'-tetrabromo 0,0'-biphenol. A compsn. was prepd. contg. 3.4% (I), 2.5% bentonite, 1% "Belavoid" dispersant, 1% sodium benzoate, and 92.1% water.
