Abstract

Food package, partic. for fresh pastry prods., allowing contents to be seen for display purposes, comprises a tray and a protective transparent cover, with peripheral rims which interengage on closure of the package. In one rim and recesses for receiving projections (10") on the other rim which form a bolt, while the recesses form a hook, for locking the rims together. The cover pref. consists of a dome of heat-shaped synthetic material, e.g. PVC, with projections on its rims for engaging recesses in the rim of the tray. The rims are pref. continuous, and that of the tray is at more than 90 degrees to the plane of the tray, to form a guide ramp for the rim of the cover.
